Medical positions

We have positions for:

ICU Fellows and Senior Registrars:

We offer a 43hour work week, with 5 hours for non-clinical commitments.

Level of independence in keeping with seniority and we offer a first on-call roster.

 

ICU Registrars:

We offer a 7 day on/7 day off roster.

5 Hours of paid teaching in line with the EBA.

 

Teaching and Research:

We offer basic and advanced ICU topics, including participation in the

 i-Validate communication program, and multi-disciplinary SIM program.

We also offer teaching to help CICM trainees obtain their Focused Cardiac Ultrasound requirement.

We have a number of trainees complete their CICM research component through our Research Unit, providing support and mentorship through the process.

 

CICM Exam Teaching:

For both the Primary and Fellowship exam we offer mock written and viva exam practice.

We offer Hot Case practice sessions, with a wide variety of case mix.

Critical Care Residents

The Critical Care resident completes a 10 week rotation through the Intensive Care unit.

Nursing positions

Nursing

The nursing staff consist of 80% Clinical Nurse Specialists and are supported by Clinical Support nurses, and a Nurse Educator.  The nursing staff also have opportunity to become ECMO and Paediatric ICU accredited, and we currently have 30 ECMO accredited nurses and 70% of our nurses are Paediatric ICU accredited.

We also offer 8 post-graduate positions in critical care nursing.

Our Research nurses coordinate and lead studies that are undertaken in the ICU, but also with affiliations with other specialties.
Our Safety and Quality nurses provide key roles in ensuring adequate data for the ANZICs COMET website as well as other programs to highlight key performance indicators as well as our patients’ outcomes.
